AWARE - Awareness for Wo+men to Advocate their Rights through Equality is a registered Chennai-based not-for-profit organization driven by the vision of a world where all vulnerable groups exercise their rights through equality. We aim to create safer spaces for everyone, everywhere through conversations that are unspoken, unacknowledged and unanswered. We nurture this path by alleviating social injustice and creating awareness on key issues that disproportionately abuse, discriminate and violate each of us.
We primarily run 6 projects enabling gender equality through awareness and education by promoting safety across different spaces from Schools, Colleges, Workplace, Communities, Public Places and Online Spaces. In the past 10 years, we have provided our comprehensive education modules on Child Safety, Gender Sensitization, Sexuality Education, Mental Health and Holistic Community Development to more than 65,000 children across Tamil Nādu. We are slowly expanding to reach 100,000 children in the next 5 years.
